On Friday , the 27th of October 2023, the Hon Finance Minister for the Republic Of Ghana, Ken Ofori-Atta and staff from the Ministry of Finance paid a courtesy call on the people of the North Tongu District who were affected by the VRA spillage. The first point of call was to hold a press briefing at the premises of the District Assembly. After the briefing , the team took a tour to Mepe to see the extent of damage that had been done and followed up by visiting the Mepe St. Kizito safe haven to commiserate with the victims. Relief items to the tune of 2 million Ghana cedis were also received with much appreciation.
